Op 24 september 2016 Rogier Telderman Trio begint zijn eerste tour in Polen. Georganiseerd door Stichting MMusic.

Poolse clubtour voor Nederlandse jazzpianist
Eind deze maand vertrekt de Tilburgse pianist Rogier Telderman met zijn trio naar Polen voor een uitgebreide clubtour. In het begin van dit jaar werd Telderman nog uitgeroepen tot beste jonge jazzact van Nederland, inmiddels wordt hij ook internationaal als een van de rijzende sterren van de jazz onthaalt. Met onder meer 12on14 club in Warschau, de legendarische Blue Note in Poznan, Piec Art in Krakow en jazzclub Vertigo in Europese culturele hoofdstad Wroclaw staan enkele van de meest prestigieuze jazzclubs op het programma.

Culturele uitwisseling
Telderman werd voor deze concertreis benaderd op uitnodiging van MMusic, een stichting die de culturele uitwisseling tussen Nederland en Polen bevordert. Małgorzata Smółka ontmoette de pianist tijdens een interview voor een Pools jazzmagazine: “De kennismaking met Rogier was erg bijzonder. In de eerste plaats maakt hij fantastische muziek, muziek die je meeneemt en zelfs ontroert.” vertelt de oprichtster en drijvende kracht van de stichting. “Daarbij is Rogier een inspirerende persoonlijkheid, iemand met een scherpe geest en heldere muzikale visie. Daarom wil ik het Poolse publiek graag kennis met hem en zijn trio laten maken.”

Zelf omschrijft de pianist omschrijft zijn composities als muziek waarin het creëren van verhalen centraal staat. In Juli was hij voor het eerst te gast in Polen, tijdens het jazzfestival Wschód Piekna, zo’n 150 kilometer ten Noorden van de hoofdstad. “Polen leeft voor de jazz! Niet alleen wordt onze muziek goed ontvangen. Er wordt fantastische nieuwe muziek gemaakt en gespeeld, die ons land maar mondjesmaat bereikt.” vertelt Rogier over deze eerste kennismaking.

Rogier Telderman is quickly evolving into an adventurous artist and authentic voice in the European music scene. The young pianist was recently elected most promising jazz artist of 2016 by the Association of Dutch jazzbookers. His music can best be described as cinematic, lyrical and up-to-the-minute. Transcending traditional musical genres such as jazz, minimal, rock and classical music. In December 2014 Rogier released his debut album ‘Contours’ on RM Records, which was praised globally for being both lyrical and energetic, deliberate and spontaneous. “A gripping personal quality who grasps its listener from the very first notes” Jazzenzo wrote. Bruce Lindsay of AllAboutJazz stated “Telderman has crafted an album notable for its varied musical and emotional range as well as for its excellent musicianship”. Or to simply quote Maxazine “Contours is a fantastic debut!”.

As a composer, Telderman takes on other adventures which challenge his role as a musician and composer. Working as part of contemporary classical ensemble (TEMKO), with which they investigate rhythmically layered structures and transform it into their “minimal chamber metal”. In November 2016, a new piece by his hand will premiere at the November Music festival featuring three amazing wind-instrumentalists (flute, euphonium and bass-clarinet) and Rogier at the piano.

Wojtek Justyna is a guitar player recognized for his sound, versatility and creativity. Although inspired by Rock and Blues he began playing classical guitar at the age of 14. He studied classical music for 9 years and during this time was awarded honorable mentions at a local guitar competition in his home town of Lodz, Poland. After joining a school big band called AB Sound Band he started developing an interest in Jazz and in 2000 he began studying at the Jazz Department at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. During his studies he became a member of The Big Band of the Academy of Music and “Gazeta Wyborcza” in Lodz. At the same time Wojtek began to write his own music and formed his own contemporary jazz band called “3Karo” with which he toured in Poland, performed on national radio and television and was awarded the GRAND PRIX at the II Miles Davis Jazz Improvisation Competition (2003) and received Honorable Mentions at the VII Competition for Aspiring Jazz and Blues Combos (2004).

In 2004 he moved to The Netherlands to broaden his knowledge at the Jazz Department at Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, he received his Bachelor of Music degree in 2008, followed by a Master of Music diploma in 2010. For 3 years he was a member of Dutch Hip-Hop group called HIDO (Winners of BKBeats 2008, Ongekend Talent Top 10 of 2008, and winners of the Peter Tetteroo Bokaal 2009). He was a member of the Charli Green Big Band (performed at the Bimhuis, Chateau de Jazz Festival). In 2010 he started working with Robin Brock (performances at The Hague Jazz Festival, Big Rivers Festival, Parkpop) and co-produced his debut album “Use At Your Discretion” in 2012. Wojtek also played with such world renowned artists as DJ Maestro (Blue Note recording artist), Jim McNeely, Mike Mainieri and Branford Marsalis.

Currently he is living in The Hague in The Netherlands. He is leading the Wojtek Justyna Tree… Oh!? which was awarded 2nd Prize at the Zoetermeer Jazz Concours (2011) and will release their debut album “Definitely Something” in 2015. He is an active sideman (Jon Tarifa, Robin Brock), composer, producer and teacher

Wspomnienie koncertu w Fabryce Trzciny 27.06.2015.

W dniach od 20 do 28 czerwca 2015 kwintet z Hagi Tango Extremo zaprezentował polskiej publiczności swoje interpretacje muzyki w szerokim tego słowa znaczeniu. W rytmach tanga oczywiście. Trasa składała się z 7 koncertów. 20 czerwca w pięknym dworku w przygranicznym Raminie, 21 czerwca w niezwykle gościnnym Campingu Marina w Szczecin Dąbiu, 22 czerwca w Art Cafe w Stargardzie Szczecińskim, 24 czerwca w Klubie Bogart w Gomunicach, 25 czerwca w Klubie Szafa w Lodzi, 27 czerwca w Fabryce Trzciny w Warszawie    a zakończyliśmy podróż po Polsce w  klubie Mjazzga w Elblągu.
Tanya Schaap razem ze swoimi kolegami zaczarowała polskich słuchaczy, którzy tak licznie gromadzili się w kolejnych klubach. Aranżacje popularnych niderlandzkich piosenek, transkrypcje Rachmaninowa i Haendla, tradycyjne tango i słowiańskie akcenty. Tango Extremo zaskakiwało każdym kolejnym utworem
Kulminacją trasy był występ w warszawskiej Fabryce Trzciny z gościnnym udziałem genialnego muzyka Włodka Pawlika. Ten wybitny pianista przyjechał na koncert Tango Extremo aby wystąpić jako ich gość. Dla zgromadzonej w Fabryce publiczności Włodek zagrał utwór solo. Następnie z towarzyszeniem skrzypiec – Tanya Schaap oraz kontrabasu – Sandor Kem, tak na ten wieczor stworzone trio wykonało utwór „Zezowate Tango” z ostatniej płyty Pawlika pt „America”. Włodek zastąpił Roba van Kreeveld w jeszcze jednym utworze Tango Extremo , autorstwa Jerzego Petersburskiego  pt. „To ostatnia niedziela”.
Muzycy Tango Extremo wyjeżdżali z Polski zachwyceni legendarną już gościnnością i niezwykłą polską publicznością. Rob van Kreeveld, pianista grupy nie mógł się nadziwić, ze w każdym kolejnym miejscu, słuchacze nagradzali muzyków brawami po każdym wykonanym utworze! I nigdzie nie zabraklo bisów! To podobno niespotykane w Niderlandach 😉

Zespół podobał się tak bardzo, że już pojawiły sie zaproszenia na kolejne koncerty. Fundacja MMusic trzyma rękę na pulsie! Byc może wrócimy do Polski już za kilka miesięcy.
